As a caregiver for a specific citizen or resident or for those willing to work in the industry, the IRCC offers the caregivers program for immigration. Foreign National can either apply as a home child care provider or a home support worker.
Under this program the Foreign National can submit the work permit and permanent residence application together. Once the caregiver has a minimum of 24 months of qualifying Canadian work experience in the last 36 months, they just need to submit proof and receive a decision on PR application.

Your Responsibilities
Under the caregiver program, you will need to perform several duties for your citizenship or permanent residence to be effective. These include:
- Offering care for individuals (private or under an organization) during incapacitation or family disruption
- Offer bedside and personal care. This includes hygiene care, food, dressing, ambulation, and more.
- Take care of dietary requirements and health issues.
- Perform other routine care duties to ensure peak health of senior citizens, adults with disabilities, or children.
- Perform housekeeping duties from time to time.
Eligibility
To be eligible for this category, you will need to fulfill the following requirements:
- Must have at least 1 year or higher post-secondary education credential, Canadian or ECA verified
- Intent and ability to perform the tasks required in the TEER description, and measured by proving work experience and/or training through documentation.
- Genuine full time job offer (non-seasonal).
- CLB Level 5 language proficiency (at least) English or French.
